What’s the bathroom situation like in camp? Is there access to showers somewhere nearby?

In the past the town has opened their high school gym locker room for showers. There is a shuttle from camp to town and back that can be used.
There are Santicans/Honey Buckets on site. I heard we are bringing in more cans for this year.

I thought I read somewhere that the county mounty was going to allow participants to ride their off-road machines to town. Was there any truth in that, or was that pure rumor?

NO! We would not allow it if we had a say in the matter also, there is simply to many riders and off road bikes, it would be a free for all that would ultimately grow out of control. If you have a dual sport feel free to obey the local laws and respect private property while riding around the area.

So i see you said something about bringing in more Santicans /Honey Buckets in this year, I hope you bring in a lot more. Last year they were so so so so so bad.
And i also read somewhere that you arn’t allowing camp fires this year… I can why from a safety point but dude its a camp site there is no way you can ask everyone to refrane from having a camp fire, I mean its not camping without a campfire.

while we can understand the desire for a fire, it’s the number 1 rule on the list of rules. It is an extreme safety issue, the camp site could go up in less than 15 minutes, people would not be able to move their rigs and set ups not to mention the damage to the land owners resources. So to reply, WE DO ask and expect EVERYONE from refraining in having a camp fire. Camp is patrolled all night long just to ensure that no one has a fire going… A lot of people in the past couple years have brought those "fake" propane fires and we allow those as long as no real wood is placed on them but you will be visited by our camp patrols to verify that it is a propane unit. We are not trying to ruin everyone’s experience we are actually trying to preserve it and life safety is #1!
One hot ember hitting a gas can is all it would take to see 3,000 plus rigs go up in flames and it would simply be uncontollable…
Thanks for understanding and following the rules

What is the ruling on bar-b-que’s (charcoal or propane)?

Propane is preferred….
Go light on the lighter fluid if you have to use briquettes and don’t leave your ashes on the ground or dump them in the dumpster when they are still hot…
Personally – I’d spend the duckets on food with the local food vendors, they will have just about everything and it’s sure to be good!
Thanks for the question

David – Gate will not open till 6AM Friday, you can try and grab a spot for thursday night in the samll park in town, the golf course in town also has a RV park otherwise Moses Lake or Soap lake might be your best bets for Thursday night to show up early Friday.
You can register for the PR friday evening, you can be the first guys out on the course Saturday….

On one of these threads someone posted that there is a gate fee for entry into the camping area. I don’t recall seeing that listed on the flyer.
How much is the gate fee?

It’s $5 per person (Kids are free but can’t recall the age cut off) for the weekend. Pay when you come in, sign the release and keep the ticket they give you. you can go in and out all weekend with the ticket.

Last year I arrived at a time I thought was early but found that tons of squatters had roped off parcels of land for friends. While I do understand that people want to camp with their buddies, it was kind of ridiculous. I drove around the loop 5 times before squeezing in and I was only in a pickup. Some of the saved spaces were large enough to build a duplex. Can you limit the roped off size or something?
Never tell a lie, and you won't have to remember what you said.

we ask people do not rope off large areas and try to handle this the best we can, but it’s impossible for us to police the camping area continuously. your best bet is to arrive Friday morning.

Yes. Please make sure your pets are behaved and pick up after them. Thanks!

There is not separate camping fee. You pay a gate fee when you enter and this provides for camping the full weekend no matter what size your vehicle/RV. Gate fee is $5 per adult.
