  1. What course and race is on Saturday for the Frostbite? I’m not sure my son only went for the White Knuckle last year. Is the course the same for both days?

    THANKS DARREN

  2. Hey all,

My son just told me last night that he wanted to go to this race. I know nothing about it. He has never raced before, but he does get out often on his KX250 on trails and once in a while at a track. We are about 3.5 hours away and I know nothing about this so if someone could tell me what to expect and whether or not I should consider this for a 14 year old kid who has never raced, please let me know. Feel free to contact me at DRLUNDIN@COMCAST.NET if you can yak with me about this for a bit. Thanks.

  4. Vic,

The course length will be the same for the long and short course. The difference is time length. The short course will race 1 1/2 hrs min. and the long course 2 1/2 hrs min.

  5. Dustin,

As far as I know, there is not. I will check tomorrow to verify but pretty sure the answer is no. The Odessa High FBLA put that on last year.

  6. Slacker469,

Sign-up usually takes 10-15 minutes depending on when you get there. If racing first on Saturday, be sure to get there by 8AM as race starts at 10AM.

  7. Ty,

Here is a link to a google map that I marked where to park and where the riders meeting will be:

    http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&msa=0&msid=103733950891955844281.000480842355a3e071912&ll=47.3186,-118.689873&spn=0.002426,0.004415&t=h&z=18

I imagine the riders meeting will be around 9:15 to 9:30 since everyone will need to walk across the highway to get their bikes warmed up. No riding their bikes across Hwy 21 is allowed.

  9. Ty,

What event flyer are you referring to? SJMC has several events coming up and I would like to ensure you have the correct directions. The directions in the Whiteknuckle/Frostbite flyer are correct (coincides with the map URL I posted earlier.)

  10. A couple of us wil be coming down from BC. Do we need spark arrestors and besides camping, is there much for accommidations in Odessa ?

  11. Kelly,

Spark arrestors are highly encouraged as a courtesy to the landowner that is allowing us to host this event.

Regarding accomodations, the city of Odessa has a 1st come / 1st Serve RV park adjacent the golf course and a motel. You can find more information on lodging here:

    http://www.odessachamber.net/bikeweek.php

If you are unable to find lodging in Odessa, the 2 closest cities are Ephrata and Moses Lake, both about 30-40 minute drive.

    FROST BITE/Whiteknuckle
it appears as if you were coming from I-90 you would continue on rosenoff back towards moses lake. it did not appear that you would stay on 21 towards odessa.

  14. Ty,

You will get off Hwy 21 exit #206 that heads N to Odessa. Hwy 21 does make some turns but the signs are well marked towards Odessa.

The flyer has good directions on it as well.

  15. Jason,

The course length grew a bit this year, but compared to last year, I am thinking around 12-14 miles. We added some new stuff!

  16. Jeremy,

I can’t make a recommendation on that since quite a few classes are broken up by age classes.

If age is not a concern, you can race the 250f in the 200A/B/C class based on your skill level. The 250F can be raced in all other classes.

More information can be found here on class structures:
